Meet Dr. Caitlin Stell

DQ6A4294-edit_edited.jpg

Caitlin Stell, Psy.D.

I became a psychologist as a way to combine my interest in the human experience and my compassion for others.  It is a privilege to do the work I do and help others on their path to meaningful change, understanding, and well-being.  In my career I have been inspired by the courage of those who seek help and self-knowledge, and feel honored to walk alongside them on their journey towards healing.

My clinical experience has been diverse and spans over a decade.  I have had the opportunity to work with individuals across the life span, from various backgrounds, with various therapeutic needs, and in various clinical settings.  I've worked in residential treatment facilities, inpatient mental health hospitals, university counseling centers, outpatient clinics, and community mental health centers. I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Pace University, and I am currently licensed to practice in multiple states, including New York, Connecticut, Colorado.  I also hold the authorization to practice virtually in over 35 states through PsyPact.

In treatment, your care is tailored specifically to what your needs are.  My clinical methods are grounded in psychodynamic theory and I draw flexibly from various other evidence-based modalities. These include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness. I am a trauma-informed psychologist and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR).  I have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma in their lives, including complex trauma.  I also provide a safe and affirming environment for LGBTQIA+ and gender non-conforming individuals.
